Yes We Canwas independently produced/directed by Jesse Dylan (son of Bob) as a way of lifting the spirits of the Obama campaign after the loss of New Hampshire during the primaries and became wildly viral soon after. The video, the sound track, and the slogan were all later adapted by the official Obama campaign - yet another demonstration of how grassroots driven the campaign was. For those who haven't seen it yet, the half hour infomercial from the Obama campaign, American Stories, American Solutions: Just a week before the election, an exhausted campaign volunteer I know was motivated to continue by this quote from the speech We Have a Lot of Work To Do: Don't believe for a second that this election is over. Don't think for a minute that power concedes. We have to work like our future depends on it this last week because it DOES depend on it this last week. After his victory, Obama gave the speech One Day To Change The World: I'm once again proud to be an American. Add your comment |
